Winter Sports

We love winter in Upstate New York! Come play in our snow or visit our rinks and arenas which host a full complement of winter sports to enjoy! Oneida County boasts over 500 miles of groomed snowmobiling trails - all maintained by the volunteer efforts of a dozen snowmobiling clubs throughout the county. Downhill ski areas, groomed cross country ski trails, and snow tubing make for exciting and funfilled snow days! Take to the ice for skating at area rinks and outdoor skating parks. 

Utica and Rome are a mecca for hockey lovers! Cheer on emerging youth hockey players, skillful collegiate teams, and the pros of the Federal Hockey League.  Utica Memorial Auditorium plays host to local youth hockey leagues, high school and college teams. JF Kennedy Arena in Rome is home to The Rome Frenzy, Oneida County's very own Federal Hockey League team taking to the ice in northeastern US and Canada.
